Developer

Nico Holdings is proprietary trading firm seeking an exceptional candidate for a position in our technology team to help us develop our next generation trading platform.  The ideal candidate will have a strong passion for quality, performance and the ability to rapidly produce production quality software.

Job Description:

Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

1. Interact with traders to gather requirements; review the requirements with senior members of the technology team
2. Design and implement software systems based on requirements
3. Interact with financial engineers, traders and operations groups to develop supportable, scalable trading software systems. 
4. Use industry best practices such as unit testing to ensure quality
5. Refactor, rearchitect and improve existing software systems

This job requires the following: 

1. Expert in an object oriented language, such as: C++, C#, Java, Python
2. C# experience preferred
3. Willingness to develop in C# required
4. Knowledge of relational or object oriented databases and interacting with them using a structured query language a plus
5. Experience with multi-threading, multi-tier applications a plus
6. Demonstrated ability to work on more than one tier of a multi-tiered architecture
7. Experience with the FIX protocol and other exchange APIs is a plus
8. Experience with LBM, Tibco, or another enterprise class messaging middleware is a plus
9. Excellent problem solving skills
10. Demonstrated ability to pick up new technologies and quickly and rapidly incorporate new knowledge into developing software
11. Good interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team environment
12. Ability to meet deadlines and work within project timeframes
13. Good verbal and written communication skills
14. Good organizational skills
15. Experience with test driven development and other agile methods is a plus
16. Prior financial trading firm experience is a definite plus

The potential exists to move into a more senior development role.

This role is open to candidates from the junior to senior level.

Total compensation will conform to experience and includes base salary, performance incentives and a comprehensive benefits plan.
